friendly garden visitor

todays catch - lots of colourful bounty

going ... going ... gone (after brunch ... off after beer to Barry's for wine)

... last day at the summer
office before school begins
+ see 2 empty beer glasses!

Nothing like having invited garden visitors to take the 'edge' off the uninvited ... I have to say each time I go and there isn't a snake, the better I feel. I think I was able to project bravery yesterday as I waded waist deep through weeds and showed off my herbs and reddening tomatoes & pepper ... after Brian rode off to Barrys I had an hour before we were to meet up again and I went a little crazy and cut off a ton of zuc leaves so I could see what lurked beneath ... (enough thinking a snake were everywhere ... there was a surprising 2nd batch of zuccs growing on both the in situ and the seedling batches ... not sure ridding the field of their leaves will affect the harvest but I figure that there were enough little newbies sprouting up that even if they stay the size of my thumb I'll still have another sizeable feast ... I was also able to take home another handful of zucc flowers - without zuccs attached - to stuff)
