I found the sage!!! (heheh) - Day 18 - 29 July 08

Mom said she'd save me some sage - she has lots and was drying it. I told her I thought I had some but had no idea what happened to it. On Tuesday while I was weeding the herb garden I pulled up so much long grass between the thyme which is flowering (and which I just read in one of the 6 new/'old' books I bought from Value Village for about $20 is good to dry and use in potpurri) and the oregano (which is also flowering and I imagine could be harvested for potpourri as well) ... hidden way down deep under the grass was my sage! I can't believe it had grown so much under such poor lighting conditions ... as well take a look at the photo of the herb patch at 1pm when the sun still hasn't hit it (woops - heheh - I forgot I just put up my umbrella for the first time so I could sit comfortably on my chair and write and have my shake and soup for lunch).

here's the herb patch after I've weeded

here it is around 1pm (the shade is from my umbrella) ... I left around 3:30pm and the patch was in full sun ... that lets me know the direction the sun falls on my garden ... it's actually at a diagnal but the front gets the sun first then it hits the back where the trees from the forrest (not to mention the 8 ft weeds along the fence ... and my virginia creeper on the hut keeps the plants moistened with dew until midday) ... [well will you look at that - I spelled forest 'forrest' ... what the heck - it's summer & I've got my feet up and my left pointer finger slipped!]
